It's not clear to me why you'd want to destroy a perfectly good hard drive. You can always use it for archive storage, after putting it into an external case. This is cheap, and easy to do. Buy a fire wire or USB cable, and you're done!!!

Hi Mike, This is great info if the hard drive was working properly. Unfortunately, it was failing so we needed to replace the hard drive but that didn't mean someone couldn't get the data off of it. Better safe than sorry and it's always fun to use a hammer.
