The Fourth Deadly Sin of Marketing: Impotence

The Seven Deadly Sins of Marketing #4 Impotence

Nobody wants to admit it, but at some point or other, it happens to most of us: putting out marketing that doesn’t achieve liftoff. That’s the very definition of impotence: being utterly unable to do something.

(Like have your marketing make a difference.)

It’s nothing to be ashamed of. It’s usually caused by one or more of the following:

1. Not enough planning beforehand

2. Not knowing the who, what, where, when, how, and why

3. Not tracking results (and therefore not making necessary corrections)

But once you come clean with the problem, it’s easy enough to fix. Here’s how:

1. Lay out what it is you’re trying to do. Do this by setting goals, a working methodology, a timeline, and a budget.

2. Firm up your approach by crafting compelling content that will make an impression on your target audience.

3. Get things going by improving the visual appeal of your website and user experience.

4. Run targeted ads that attract the right people to your site.

Today’s digital marketing tools can take so many different shapes and sorts that they can leave you feeling insecure. We get it. Just take it one step at a time.
