Your marketing is a joke

Early in my career, I worked for a marketing consultant who perfected “shock and awe” customer service.

“Your marketing is a joke,” I heard him tell one client.

It was like watching a lion tamer. He let the danger of that statement linger for maximum effect. Then he began explaining that, like an inside joke, the only people getting their marketing were people inside the organization.

This client’s sales were a fraction of what they once were. Clinging to outdated methods from glory days, they resisted every attempt to introduce new ideas: crazy things like data and the world wide web.

Fast forward to today.

One of the greatest things about working at Counterintuity is we don’t have this problem. Our clients aren’t afraid of new ideas.

No, I haven’t replaced “shock and awe” with “bow and scrape.” Let me explain.

Our whole purpose is to use marketing to change the world. And by definition, you can’t do that by doing the same old thing. So the one requirement we have for new clients is that they are eager to embrace change:

    • Several of our clients needed help breaking free from sloth-like bureaucratic systems and brought us in as a partner who could help them move forward faster.
    • Others came to the realization that what they were doing wasn’t enough anymore and took bold action to try something new.
    • Still others came to us and then left — but then came back after realizing our recommendations proved right. That’s a whole other story.

So what’s next for you?

If you’re eager to get to the next level and are ready to try something new, let’s talk. We’ll help you get started.
